Spiritual Power, Success and Church Growth In Africa |

Africa has had and still has men of God who moved and move in the real power of God. I may be correct to say that Archbishop Benson Idahosa raised the dead more than any other person of his time. If any one of us wants to know how to deal with the powers of witchcraft, there is no theological book that can be better than the practical ministry of Papa Idahosa. He challenged witches openly and demonstrated the superiority of God’s power over their powers.
The man with the largest and fastest growing church in the world is in Africa. If I mentioned his name, it may sound strange to some of us, as if I am talking about a tree in Zambia, my country of birth. Most African Christians do not know that the largest church auditorium in the world is on the African soil. One of, if not the largest Christian University in the world is in Africa, and it is built by African people. The founding leader of the ministry with this university has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it is possible to prosper here in Africa. His organization could be among the wealthiest Christian organizations in the world. Africa is not spiritually bankrupt. The major problem of the church in Africa is her inability to recognize and utilize the gifts that God has given to her (Ephesians 4:11) for her benefit and for the generations to come. If we do not open our spiritual eyes and be delivered from the continental demon of inferiority complex that has caused us to despise ourselves as a people, we will miss our time of visitation. We need to start looking to ourselves and begin to extract the spiritual wealth that God has invested in this continent through men of God on the continent. Biographies of great men of God, who have gone to be with the Lord, must find their way into the hands of the inhabitants of the continent. The stage must be set for fathers on the land to impart what God has invested in them to this generation and pass it as a spiritual heritage to the next generations. If we do not do this, history may repeat itself. Africa may not benefit from her spiritual legacy, as she has failed to benefit from her economical legacy. It is sad that we learn history but never learn from it. |
